“Dale” is 4 year old by the one and only, Cat Ichi, the son of High Brow Cat now known for siring over 6.6 million in performers. His dam is a daughter of the NCHA earner Cody Hickory, by Docs Hickory. I am a fan of “just a sorrel” – but I can say that 10 fold when the look like him. This gelding has so much eye appeal, and the athleticism to match.

Dale came directly out of a year with a cowhorse program, and into our barn. His notecard told us he was working the buffalo, and incredibly cowy, but didn’t find himself to be a standout in the reining pattern. Without being a extraordinary in all 3 events, they decided to trade him out for a finished one that was.

He has all the right buttons, in all the right places. He rides great in the arena, and has forgave us novice’s every step of the way while having a blast on the flag. He has a smooth turn around and that big stop everyone strives for.

After a rough Minnesota winter locked inside, we have gotten the chance to ride him all over outside. He crosses water easy, goes back and forth by the cow pens, and will ride out on a loose rein in the hayfield. It wouldn’t take much of anything to make him a tried and true ranch horse.

This guy has the talent and quite a few buttons – he deserves to stay with a real job. A team sorter would fall head over heels for him, start him in the breakaway, or bring him back into cowhorse program just to have fun on.
