“Sideyeguy” is a 2021 APHA bald faced buckskin gelding with all the ingredients to make an exciting barrel prospect. Standing right around 15.2 hands, he’s athletic, quick-footed, and backed by one of the strongest barrel pedigrees you’ll find.

His bloodlines deserve a serious look. He is sired by Oh Yeah That Guy, a son of the proven sire French Too Fame. French Too Fame is by the legendary Frenchmans Guy and out of a Dash Ta Fame daughter, combining two of the most influential names the barrel industry has ever seen. That cross has consistently produced horses with the speed, athleticism, and trainability to compete at every level. On the bottom side, he traces back to PR Handy Scoot and Features Fortune, adding even more proven performance genetics to an already impressive pedigree.

This gelding has the kind of foundation people are looking for in a young performance horse. He goes around both ways, knows his leads, and breaks at the poll. He is learning to move off of his rib cabe, move his hips, and do all the things a “broke” barrel horse should. He’s naturally athletic, quick across the ground, and has all the speed and ability to continue progressing with his next rider.

He has been lightly patterned on the barrels, hauled to exhibitions. While he’s bred with the barrel pen in mind, this horse could do just about anything. He is sizable enough for the head side in the roping, he can ride down the trail, or go off and give him a ranch job with cattle.

As an APHA Solid Paint-Bred, he is also eligible for Paint Barrel Racing Incentive Program (PBRIP) earnings at participating events, adding even more value to an already exciting prospect. Horses with this kind of pedigree, athleticism, and eye appeal don’t come around every day.

I mean, seriously. When was the last time you saw a true barrel racing pedigree on a bald faced, buckskin gelding?
