“Swivel” is a 7 year old draft-cross gelding. By all means, at first glance, you’re going to think we are a person calling a paint horse, a draft cross, due to a little extra bone. Take a closer look and notice this guy is ALL bone, BIG, and HANDSOME. Regardless, he is one of the sweetest, easiest going guys in our barn right now. When I need something reliable with a guaranteed same trip every time, this is the guy we pull from the stall.
THIS is one of those guys we will send to a client if SAFE and QUIET are at the top of their list – and the cherry on top – he is a THICK and PAINTED! The ground isn’t as close as it once was, but that doesn’t mean we still don’t want something built to hold any size of rider. He is that ideal size of 15.1 and has to weighs in at 1200 lbs. Tarps, ropes, cattle, tractors, cars, wildlife – none of it impacts this guy. He is a supreme trail horse – he is great with bridges, rocks, rivers, roads, and traffic. He is fearless trail leader, and will go where you point him, when you point him.
You can ride him inside an arena or out in the hayfield. He is athletic enough to do arena work, and even do a sale barn turn around. He knows his leads, and would WAY cool under english tack. It is not easy to find one built wide enough like a draft, but athletic and handy enough to move like a stock horse. He is the same – Every. Single. Time. He hauls well, clips well, stands good for the farrier.
