“Daisy” is a 2023 AQHA sorrel mare sired by 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗚𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿, a son of 𝗚𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗶𝘁𝗲 (LTE: $235,000+). On the bottom side, she is out of a daughter of Quixote Dash, by the famous 𝗗𝗼𝗰 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘅𝗼𝘁𝗲, who was crossed on a 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘆𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁 (𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙮𝙬𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝘿𝙪𝙣 𝙄𝙩) mare.

The catalog told me this mare has been in the same program since she was a yearling, and that consistency shows every time you ride her. She has approximately 120 days of riding and has been brought along slowly and correctly, building a solid foundation instead of being rushed. She goes around both ways, knows her leads, and already shows she is going to want to stop. For most big programs, she is considered behind. If you believe in letting one grow at their own pace, I think she is right on target.

Her previous home put some outside miles on her when she was started. She’s been used checking cattle, helping with ranch chores, and has even been lightly started on the flag. She has plenty of natural athletic ability, but what stands out even more is her mind. She’s smart, trainable, and genuinely wants to please her rider. Every ride, she continues to put the pieces together and makes you excited about where she’ll be a year from now.

She’s easy to catch, enjoys being around people, and is always ready to go to work. There isn’t any drama with this mare. She shows up with the same willing attitude every day, making her the kind that’s enjoyable to own just as much as she is to ride.

Something to know about this mare is that she is very “aware”. She is not afraid of much, but you can tell she is aware of her surroundings on the ground. Her confidence in the saddle is 10 fold. Maybe you call this a quirk, maybe you call it personality, but it is the biggest thing people have to know about her.
