“Prada” is an 8 year old crossbred mare. We were told she was a percheron/quarter horse cross. She is TALL, and athletic, and absolutely has a “sport horse” look to her.
This girl was purchased off a cowboy who was using her around the sale barn. We got her home, started riding her in the arena, and couldn’t be happier with how she transitioned into that. This girl is not only super fun to ride on the arena, but tried and true out on the trails. We have ridden her out in our field with the longhorns, and out back in our hay field.
She checks off all of our boxes for desensitization with tarps, yoga balls, and even roping the mini cows. She gets treated like a show horse here living in a box stall, and saddles up everyday from fresh alfalfa like a seasoned pro. I can’t wait to see what this girl will look like with a little more muscle to match.
No bucking, bolting, popping up in the front end, or sourness out of this gal. She is a total sweetheart. If this mare had papers, we’d have to hold her back for something bigger than a weekly gig. Unfortunately, that pointer isn’t always friendly to mares, so if you can look aside to that, you won’t find one better!
