“Squirrel” is 3 years old and one of the most naturally balanced, willing, and people-oriented youngsters we’ve ever had. I told a guy today he is the kind you walk by in the stall barn, peak behind he bars, and say “what’s he? That’s a really nice looking animal” and his nose is out the feed hole for a pet before you even finish speaking. He has tail for DAYS, so much shape, and is shinier than a brand new penny.

He’s extremely gentle, riding around nice, and ready to keep going in any direction. He has gotten the majority of his riding career in house. He has a soft, collected walk/trot/lope, breaks at the poll, naturally wants to stop big, moves off leg pressure, and has that draw and athleticism that gets you excited about what he could become.

He knows his leads, moves his shoulders, and is already starting to flex through his ribcage. He has that “cowy” feel you can’t train into one—he was just born with it. And most importantly, he’s kind. We haven’t seen a silly step out of him, even the first day we swung a leg over. No buck, no popping up, no dumb baby BS. His 5th ride felt like other’s 60th. He’s been quiet in new environments, easy to saddle, and has never once tried anything out of line. You don’t say that often about a 3-year-old. He is a standout project for a competitive youth or amateur wanting to build something special from the ground up. He’s got the mind to go do ranch riding, the footwork to sort or rope on, and the bloodlines to go be somebody.
