“Mamba” is a 12 year old quarter horse gelding that anyone is going to find a reason to love.
He is a fitting mold to “go where you tell him”. This guy came from out west and was said to be using horse – but now, I’d say he is a beer drinking trail companion. He is so dang smooth, and happily goes all 3 gaits, however I’d label as a “more woah than go”.
Don’t mind how easy this guy wintered, when this guy sheds out, he is going to be a head turner. This guy can go into the arena and go both directions, and know his leads. He doesn’t have much fancy in regards to “buttons” on him there, but will lope off like a rocking horse on a loose rein.
He has seen our desensitization protocol, and of course passed it with flying colors. After day one, the tarps, balls, ropes, and the works weren’t much of anything he bats an eye for. He is one of those perfect “head to tail” partners to take out in a group, and really hasn’t taken made much hesitation over anything while out exploring. He has been through rivers, in our woods, and next to our busy road with the longhorns.
When a friend drives in from the cities to ride, he’d be one I throw them on for a spin. He may not have much to him for the show pen, but if you want a fun one to enjoy at home with friends and family, you can’t go wrong with this guy.
