“Stewie” is a 4 year old AQHA/NRBC/NRHA gelding that is an own son of the great Colonels Shining Gun (LTE $115k+, PE $822k+). Colonels Shining Gun is a cross of two of the greatest horses in the reining industry: Colonels Smoking Gun (#1 All Time Reining Sire, NRHA Hall of Fame, Sire of over $14,000,000) and Shining Spark ($10 Million Sire).

His dam is an own daughter of Powder River Playboy (LTE 137k+) by Peppy San Badger (NCHA $172k+).

Not only is he bred the part, but he has all the chrome you could ask for in four white legs and a big bald face. This gelding is the first one you will want to start your day with, and the last one you will want to put away. He has approximately 1 year of formal reining training under his belt. He has moved cattle, been exposed to the rope, and would start up in the box overnight. Do not let his age fool you, Stewie is suitable for riders of all abilities.

He has a good neck rein, side passes, leg yields, and gives to the bit. He is our trainer’s pick for an easy, fancy ride, yet he has also packed our city friends from college that have never been on a horse before in their life. He is a ranch pleasure candidate deluxe! This guy would be the flashiest horse on the trail– he crosses water, bridges, hills, rocks, and will go whichever way you point him. He has been exposed to all of our funny stuff, and doesn’t bat twice about it – the tarps, ball, flags, equipment, dogs, and cattle. He is bred well enough to make a name for himself in the arena, or, saddle him up and take him out into the back country. He can go out by himself or tag along to follow a buddy.

Stewie sells 100% sound. He is straight and cleaned legged with no raised scars. He comes with a letter of good health from our veterinarian as well.
